Do you have a mantra? πŸ€”

If you're over the age of 30, there's a pretty good chance you've heard the following:

I'm good enough,
I'm smart enough,
and doggone it,
people like me!
-Stuart Smalley

Admit it: when I asked if you had a mantra - this all too famous skit from SNL was probably one of the first things that popped in your head.

Or maybe you had a vision of a yogi sitting in Lotus pose humming "Om."

Yeah, me too. πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ

Kidding aside - is there a benefit to having a mantra?

"At the end of the day, the mantra is meant to bring you back to simplicity. We live in such a complex world that it’s easy to get lost in all the details. Mantras can help you circle back to the simplistic approach to life and focus on those things that inspire you and truly make you happy.” -Chopra

For me - I use a mantra when things get tough.

When I'm tired, exhausted, or really want to quit, I think of this story about Lance Armstrong:

One day during a leg of The Tour, Lance was completely cooked and his coach sensed it. His coach radioed into Lance's earpiece and said "Lance, whatever you do...don't get off the bike."

My mantra: STAY ON THE BIKE.

The message is simple.
When things get tough - don't stop.
Don't quit. Keep going.
Stay on the bike.

So...do you have a mantra?
