well... i think it would be great to attend college for free... gaining access to services that people in america busted their asses over for years and years.

is there some country we can go to that discriminates against it's own, providing resources for those who have not contributed to its own existence? if so, cool...

maybe starbucks should stick to making coffee?

This one I agree with whole-heartedly. Pessimism towards government... Put your faith in government and the politicos will take care of themselves. Ever try to disect a cult? A neo-conservative in charge making millions and a bunch of liberals throwing their money at him screaming, "Take care of me and tell me what I want to hear." This is America and like it or not, if you're not happy, it's simply because you're not willing to make an effort to be happy. Happiness isn't a birthright, it's a level of acheivement.

This comment, as it stands, bugs me. It's probable that there is more to what you want to say that will fit on the back of the cup, but as it is written, it sounds very high-brow and snobbish. It implies an illiterate Tibetan farmer is less than a Western PhD holder on your scale and must somehow be saved from his "disparity". It strikes me that most farmers anywhere in the world would consider us the disparate ones for going to college so we can spend 10 hours a day in front of a monitor!

Ha! That's funny. I just read an article about "brrreeeport" and Matt Scoble in my WebProNews newsletter and so I threw a search out on google and found your blog. Just thought I'd mention that ^_~. Later.

Unless you meant to do it, the Scoble you're talking about is Robert Scoble, not Matt Scoble.
